Color. Robert Sabuda. Tutankhamen's Gift.
The strong overall style of this book blew me away from the first page. The bold lines and flat colors seem to be painted directly on top of a papyrus texture (maybe overlayed on photoshop?) to imitate a hieroglyphic/stained glass approach. Wow!

gorgeous traditional style illustration! color accents with Brownie's scarf and the redness of the fox's coat against the beautifully calm white landscape are so successful!

In this beautiful re-telling of an African tale, Haley uses bold, energetic, graphic hues to depict a colorful old trickster story. The use of pattern, texture, and line is really visually impressive. Look at that old man's face! So great.
