I really appreciate Gris's unique way of creating characters that are eerie yet whimsical. He's illustrated a variety of short stories, including a collection of Edgar Allan Poe tales. I find his line work to be expressive and loose yet very stylistic and purposeful. Despite is nods to a horror-like genre, all the characters in his work are unique, emotive and well designed.
